Paris through my Iphone

Ever since I got an Iphone I've been finding it pretty hard to carry my camera around. All I want to do is take pictures ( of ANYYYYYTHING) with it. To for all of you that have been writing me asking me to post more; I promise I am more amusing on instagram so follow me!

Here are just a couple of pictures of my life in Paris for the past couple of months. Hope you guys enjoy it!!

Ps: if you happen to be in Paris, do not forget to stop by and check out the new Stein collection exhibition at the Grand Palais, its truly remarkable!!!. Aaaaand go to the hammam at La mosquee de Paris - its beyond relaxing, a little oasis in the middle of the city ( a cheap exotic vacay for a couple of hours in the city ;) )

Chanel SS'12- better late than never...

So, I know this post comes a bit late. But I swear between my French classes and well life in Paris, I have barely been having time to post on the blog. I apologize. I promise I will try to get better!!

I had the amazing opportunity to go to the Chanel SS'12 fashion show during Paris Fashion week, and let me tell you : It really is everything you can possibly imagine and more.

The beautifully crafted stage brought us to an icy, underwater world, where nymphs walked around as if they were walking on air.As if I wasn't in cloud 9 already, Florence and the Machine performed life at the show. Regardless to say: I died.

The make up couldn't have been more beautiful, and the pearls running down the model's spines, and perfectly placed on their "wet" hair was just icing on the cake.

My favorite piece of the show has to be the "ear cuff" though, I don't know if I am going to have to sell my eggs in order to get my hands in one of those babies. But I am sure if that is the case, it will be worth it *swoon*

ps: if you guys are wondering what we got in the gift bags. It was the "Pericot" nail polish , which im obsessed with. And the Illusion D'Ombre shadows which have become my new favorites. I swear I have never been a huge fan of Chanel eye shadows, asI feel they lack some pigment. But these ones are really amazing, promise!

If there is something I love more than pastel colored hair, is braids. They are so easy, fun, and they always save you from the heat, or a bad hair day!

I miss my pink/purplish ombre hair. So sad that Manic Panic only lasts for about 10 days!

I had even found the best combo : Mystic Heather + Virgin now *sigh*

I think its definitely making a Fall comebeback...

Paris Fashion Night Out - The day my dream of a Birkin died

Fashion's Night Out in Paris turned the “ Triangle d’Or” into a sea of fashionistas. There must have been the same amount of photographers as there were posers. Paris being a city of all things chic, couldn't just have a sales driven event, like its NY counterpart. Of course not, it had to make a VIP event out of it where the creme de la creme of parisian fashionistas dotted white invitations for each fashion house and even had to wait (*gasp* ) in lines that were up to 2 blocks long (as it was the case of the Chanel boutique) .

Considering Anna Wintour created this event, as a way to boost sales during the recession 3 years ago, its funny I did not see 1 person carrying a shopping bag. People were there to be seen, and to get to mingle with their friends in an overflowing river of never ending champagne . It was not an event for the consumers, as they were not even being let into store, but rather for "insiders". What I find hilarious is that the people in the industry rarely have money to actually buy luxury goods full price (lets admit it, we don't make much money... thank god for sample sales ).... So I guess in a way it was an event to embrace the exclusivity of the industry.

And of course a night for all the teenagers of Paris to borrow their mother/ grandmothers Birkin bags and parade them around up and down Avenue Montaigne, in the hopes of getting their picture taken by a blogger (instant social status,obviously). Seriously, it made me not want one ( and I was about to finally get one for my bday this year- great timing, right? grr). I guess the whole point of having one is exclusivity, and the fact that they are anything but exclusive here (even with the hefty pricetag) turned me off a little bit, not going to lie.

All together , it was a fun night as my friend Catherine and I got to laugh about the whole thing together. I guess one can't take things too seriously, even fashion!

Ps: of course I had to share with you guys a couple of pictures of the worst outfits of the day. I am none to hate here, I can appreciate a different outfit, and even embrace when people's style has character to it. But what I can't stand is when people try so hard, they need to just not even bother. When is doubt just go simple, I am telling you, words to live by!

I really wonder what some people were thinking...

" Hmmm why don't I rip out the whole back of this see through curtain dress to show some skin and sex it up to walk on the street at 8 pm, totally casual, you know?"

" Why don't we make flower headpieces to walk around Paris during the night time, lets pretend is a music festival, BUT to give it a twist lets wear it with unflattering clothes with all the wrong proportions! Why not? It will be unexpected, maybe a blogger or two will take our picture?...

So even though Irene tried to mess up my weekend in NY, at least I got a couple of play days while I was there. I got to go to my favorite restaurants such as: Bar Pitti, Cafe Havana, Gemma, Magnolia Bakery Vanesa's dumplings and as contradictory as it may sound I also enjoyed some Organic Avenue juices ( which I swear are quite yummy for healthy meals/shakes)

Wish I could have done more shopping but since I basically only had 2 days there not counting the Irene weekend, I just got to stroll around some vintage stores in the LES ( where I found the light blue dress I am wearing in this pics for 45 bucks, best deal ever!!! It actually had a very high neckline, but after playing with some scissors, I feel like it became more "me" ) Since my friends tell me Dr.Quinn Medicine woman seems to be my style icon, I decided to go western chic with this vintage dress, a conch belt and boots ( although the Chanel bag kinda throws it off just enough )

My last night some friends and I went to Gemma ( for some truffle focaccia and polenta fries ) & some drinks, and ended up as usual at my favorite bar "Cabin" just listening to mellow rock music and frocking around in our dresses, just because.

So a quick post, before I fly out to Miami. Yesterday I finally was able to get a hold of one of the Byzantine Chanel Pre-Fall headpieces. And it should go without saying : I AM OBSESSED.
Chanel Pre Fall 2011has been one of my favorite collections in a long time. And I can't help but want to sell my eggs to get my hands of the whole thing... ( but really should I? How much do you think they re even worth? note to self : research. It is in the name of Chanel afterall lol)
I rarely do outfit posts. But I thought the jacket and the headpiece deserved one.
This week I will be posting from Miami and NY, and have a couple fun projects I am working on there. I can't wait to show you guys later!!!

So, the third day at Lolla while we were sipping a drink at the HardRock hotel we started seeing some black clouds come way too close for comfort. I thought it would be a tropical storm but boy was I wrong. The rain lasted a couple of hours, and actually managed to come back a couple of hours later before Deadmau5

In a way I feel prepared for Glastonbury now ( Just need to come to terms with the camping and no showering part, ok maybe I am not prepared for it afterall, but a girl can dream)

Anyways, the rain ended up giving out third day at the festival a completely different feel ( and smell...lol)... but anyhow it was an amazing!!!

As you all know, I was lucky enough to visit Croatia this summer. One of the exciting projects I got to work on, was an editorial for Marie Claire Mexico.

I was able to work with the most amazing team, that made a 11 hour shoot a breeze!! (And trust me after being under the sun for over 5 hours, its really hard not to want to shoot someone )

Besides a truckers tan, that lasted a couple of days. We were left with some great memories, and some amazing pictures. If you get a chance, go get the August issue of Marie Claire Mexico, these pictures barely do any justice to the beautiful editorial.

So as I was walking through a Mall in Zagreb, I discovered this amazing gem hiding in between all the old Calvin Klein and, Huge Boss and DKNY stores.

Nicholas, is about the coolest store in Zagreb. It carries Burberry, Balenciaga, Rick Owens, Celine and Christian Louboutin (all on sale!!!! , at the moment too ).... As I made my way to the back of the store, I saw this pair of Isabel Marant boots (a choir of angels singing in the background, as a light is shinning on them type of moment)... I had been looking for this boots for so long , I had lost hope in finding them. Just when I thought I couldn't be more excited, I turned the boots around only to reveal that they were 60% off... ( GASP )...

Mind you they were a size too big, but honestly who really cares??? I'll wear socks with them.. Think about it, they could be a size too small which would make them uncomfortable, so I guess I got lucky afterall.... or am I just retarded?... Whatever the case, I am excited to wear them for "In Music Festival" tomorrow :)
